San Angelo Museum of Fine Arts

Located near the heart of downtown San Angelo and overlooking the beautiful Concho River, the San Angelo Museum of Fine Arts has three spacious galleries two with dramatic 40-foot ceilings and there is also a large rooftop sculpture terrace with a beautiful view of the city. We have a gift shop with unique items and works of art created by regional artists and craftspeople.

Hours: Tuesday - Saturday 10 am - 4 pm
              Sunday 1 pm - 4 pm

Closed on Mondays, Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Day

Fort Concho National Historic Landmark

Established in 1867, along the banks of the Concho River, Fort Concho was built to protect frontier settlements, patrol and map the vast West Texas region, and quell hostile threats in the area. The old frontier army post is now a historic preservation project and museum which is owned and operated by the City of San Angelo, Texas.

              Sunday 1 pm to 5 pm

The Concho Valley Farmer's Market will be open on Tuesdays, Thursdays & Saturdays from 7:00 am to sell-out. Located at 609 S. Oakes Street and includes vendors from a 75-mile radius around San Angelo. Across from Fort Concho. For more information, contact Margie Jackson at 325-245-3338. Market open thru freeze.

Fort Concho Speakers Series 2017

Enjoy a lunchtime talk by area speakers covering different topics of our community heritage. The program is held in the Fort Concho Commissary Building, located at Burgess Street near Henry O. Flipper Street. Take Flipper Street from South Oakes Street, just a half mile south of downtown San Angelo. Each day's session begins shortly after noon. Free Admission

SAMFA Art Thursday

Enjoy an afternoon of art making in the San Angelo Art Museum's Education Studio! We always feature clay and watercolor, and every three weeks there are two new art projects to try. Visitors are welcome to drop in anytime between 3 and 6. Please allow at least 30 minutes to try all projects.

Downtown & Cultural Art District Stroll

Come join us every third Thursday of the month for the DSA & Cultural Arts District Downtown Stroll. Each month, Downtown Stroll showcases some of the best art, food, and fun that Downtown San Angelo has to offer. Stop by the San Angelo Museum of Fine Arts and view their current exhibits, or visit one of the many art galleries for a sampling of West Texas art.

H-E-B Sheep Competition Gallery Exhibit

Join us as we take a look at all the entries for the new HEB store's sheep competition at Gallery Verde - 417 S. Oakes. The entries will be on display along with a fiberglass sheep to see for scale. Exhibit Opens During Downtown Stroll.

Concho Valley Archeology Fair

10:00 AM - 03:00 PM

Dozens of booths and activity areas will bring alive our region's past at this annual event. Come spend a free day at Fort Concho viewing exhibits and demonstrations that include Archeology programs, Native American Life and Culture, Fort Period Military Life, Early Settlers, Travel and Daily Life, and a variety of hands-on activities.  10 AM - 3 PM
