Located near the heart of downtown San Angelo and overlooking the beautiful Concho River, the San Angelo Museum of Fine Arts has three spacious galleries two with dramatic 40-foot ceilings and there is also a large rooftop sculpture terrace with a beautiful view of the city. Art Thursdays TO GO

The San Angelo Museum of Fine Arts is happy to Introduce Art Thursday...TO-GO! Safely drive through the museum’s parking lot and pick up Art Thursday Packets To-Go. Two, printable activities and additional supplies will be included for FREE each Thursday* this summer from 3 – 6 pm, or until supplies run out. SAMFA staff will safely and hygienically hand packets to you from the safety of your car window. SAMFA Staff will also be wearing masks and gloves at all times, as well as follow social distancing guidelines in order to optimize the safety of Participants and Museum Staff.

Fort Concho- Campfire Story Night

07:30 PM - 08:30 PM

Join Fort Concho throughout the summer as living historians tell Western Frontier stories. (The stories told are welcoming to people of all ages, including children.) The guest will hear about families stationed at Fort Concho and Native American legends.
The program is about an hour-long (7:30 pm to 8:30 pm) on June 18, July 16, and August 13. We will be set up in our courtyard (behind barracks 5 and 6.) It is recommended that you bring a blanket or lawn chair as there is limited seating.

The San Angelo Museum of Fine Arts is happy to Introduce Art Thursday...TO-GO! Safely drive through the museum’s parking lot and pick up Art Thursday Packets To-Go. Two, printable activities and additional supplies will be included for FREE each Thursday* this summer from 3 – 6 pm, or until supplies run out. SAMFA staff will safely and hygienically hand packets to you from the safety of your car window. SAMFA Staff will also be wearing masks and gloves at all times, as well as follow social distancing guidelines in order to optimize the safety of Participants and Museum Staff.

Open noon - 6 p.m. Tuesdays-Sundays through Labor Day. The pool is closed on Mondays for maintenance, excluding Memorial Day and Labor Day. Admission is $5 per person for ages 3-64, $3 for ages 65 and older, free for ages 2 and younger.

SAMFA- Chamber Music Series

SAN ANGELO FINE ART MUSEUM- CHAMBER MUSIC SERIES features concerts by outstanding musicians from across Texas and the United States and regularly draws patrons from every segment of the community with both traditional chamber musicians and more broadly based contemporary or ethnic music groups. Several local caterers and restaurants will provide refreshments for the concerts. Ensembles perform in an intimate and acoustically wonderful space with all concerts starting at 2:00 p.m. at the Art Museum.

Jeffrey Noel Lastrapes The Bach Cello Suites- Sunday, August 29, 2021 2:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. 

Jeffrey Noel Lastrapes is an active soloist, chamber musician, and teacher having performed and taught in Europe, Asia, South America, and in every region of the US. As a soloist, he has appeared with the Monroe Symphony Orchestra, the Baton Rouge Symphony, the Midland-Odessa Symphony, the Ibex Chamber Orchestra of New York, the Lower Marion Symphony of Philadelphia, the Festival Orchestra in Vina del Mar, Chile, the National Philharmonic of Honduras, and numerous others. He has also participated in major summer festivals around the world including the Evian Festival in France, Hot Springs Music Festival, Peninsula Music Festival, Bay View, the Bellingham Festival, and the Gregor Piatigorsky Seminar at the University of Southern California.

San Angelo Museum of Fine Arts

Located near the heart of downtown San Angelo and overlooking the beautiful Concho River, the San Angelo Museum of Fine Arts has three spacious galleries two with dramatic 40-foot ceilings and there is also a large rooftop sculpture terrace with a beautiful view of the city. We have a gift shop with unique items and works of art created by regional artists and craftspeople.

Yarn Junkies- Knitting Class

All classes are $10. Bring your current project. If you are a beginner, bring what you would like to work on. They have scrap yarn for beginners to learn from. Call in advance to make sure class has not been cancelled.

Farmers Market

The Farmers Market Pavilion is an open-air pavilion that sits at 609 S. Oakes St. between El Paseo de Santa Angela and Fort Concho. Open on every Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday until the first freeze. Vendors sell homegrown veggies, fruits, plants, herbs, honey and nuts from the early spring through the early fall. A few vendors also sell meat and homemade items.
